ピカピカのクロムメッキ。
しぶ〜いサテン仕上げ。
黒光りするブラックPVD。
そして、何もまとわぬノーメッキ。
私が選んだのは、ノーメッキ。
理由？簡単だ。「顔がいいから」
いや、冗談抜きで。
構えたときに「頼れる」って思えるかどうか、
私にとってはそれがすべて。
もちろん、ノーメッキは錆びる。
練習サボると、すぐ茶色くなる。
でも、その“育ってる感”がたまらない。
自分だけの相棒って感じがするんだ。
かといって、メッキが悪いわけじゃない。
耐久性なら圧倒的にメッキ。
雨の日でも気にせずガンガン使えるし、
DLCみたいなハードコーティングすれば、超長持ち。
実は、58度のヘッドにDLCコーティングしようとして、
「ノーメッキじゃDLCの効果は半減します」
って言われて、諦めた（笑）
結局「硬い下地にこそDLCは映える」らしい。
だから今は、あえてのノーメッキ×信頼感重視。
ウェッジはクラブの中でも、
「ミスを救ってくれる」「勝負を決める」存在。
顔が好き、打感が好き、信じられる。
そんな一本が、俺のゴルフを支えてくれてる。

構えた瞬間、信じられるか。
それだけが、答えだと思う。

And raw, no finish at all.
I chose raw.
Why? Simple: It just looks right.
No joke—
When I look down and think, “I can trust this,”
that’s everything to me.
Sure, raw wedges rust.
Skip practice for a few days, and they turn brown.
But that aged look? I love it.
It feels like a partner that’s growing with me.
That doesn’t mean chrome is bad.
If you want durability, chrome wins.
You can swing it in the rain with no worries.
And if you go with a hard coat like DLC, it lasts forever.
Actually, I once thought about coating my 58° with DLC.
But the shop told me,
“Raw heads don’t take full advantage of DLC.”
So I gave up.
Turns out, DLC shines best on hard surfaces.
So now, it’s raw + trust for me.
Wedges are the clubs that save your misses—
the ones that decide matches.
If I love how it looks, how it feels,
and if I can trust it…
That’s all I need.
